The International Horn Society (IHS) is seeking a Marketing Manager to lead and execute digital outreach through email, newsletter, and social media. The role requires consistent communication and alignment with IHS’s organizational goals and messaging strategy. Attendance at relevant meetings and timely responsiveness to feedback are essential due to the nature of marketing and social media.
The Executive Administrative Assistant position works as the assistant to the chief administrative position for the International Horn Society. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Executive Administrative Assistant facilitates communication with membership and within the IHS staff and volunteers.

We publish a bi-monthly e-newsletter, which provides additional educational content and announce upcoming events and activities. It is free to anyone who signs up, IHS member or not. Each issue will include valuable articles and links to content for all, as well as special links to members-only content. Corrado Saglietti, principal horn of the RAI National Symphony Orchestra (Torino, Italy) has assembled a 44-page book of exercises to be used as warmups and technique builders. He says this about his collection of exercises:
In more than 30 years of professional activity I have had the opportunity to participate in a large variety of musical experiences and to meet a vast number of horn players from all over the world.
There's always something new to be learned.
Among the exercises I have ever heard, invented and tried out over time, I have put together those which I have found most efficient and which have accompanied me all these years.
The choice and structure of the exercises are the results of a long experimentation.

The IHS Online Music Library is now open for business
The Online Music Library (OML) is a new venture for the IHS and one that we're very excited about. The OML will replace the long-running Manuscript Press which published winning compositions of the IHS Composition Contest. The OML, however, will be much more than this. We plan to expand the offerings to include a greater variety of horn music that will appeal to a wider variety of players—from young students to seasoned professionals.
We are doing away with the old business model of shipping printed music through the mail. Rather, we will be delivering our publications as downloadable PDF documents. This has several key advantages:

Two surveys of European horn playing styles are now available under "Multimedia—>European Style Surveys." The first survey includes still photos and audio recordings that Pete Exline collected while on sabbatical in 1965. Pete drove all over Europe interviewing, recording, and photographing principal horn players from major orchestras performing the same five standard excerpts. He recently gave the material he collected to the IHS, and it has now been digitized.
Inspired by Pete's study, Website Manager Dan Phillips undertook another study in the fall of 2010 of 12 current European principal players, from many of the same orchestras. Still photos and basic biographical information for all 23 players can be accessed by all site visitors, and IHS members can enjoy streaming audio from the 1965 study and video from the 2010 version.
