Italian Danilo Stagni, Principal Horn of  Teatro la Scala and the Filarmonica Della Scala will be a Featured Artist at the 45th International Horn Symposium.

Two new pieces by David Lamb have been added to the IHS Online Music Sales.

In the words of the composer:

"Flourishes is a set of five duets composed in 1957 for the fine natural horn Carl Geyer made for me. This version is transposed for modern valve horns, but the pieces can still be played on natural horns of the appropriate keys."

"First Person Singular is a set of eight lyrical etudes designed for a traveling horn player who needs some tuneful material for basic maintenance while on the road."

Two more Featured Artists have been confirmed for the 45th International Horn Symposium in Memphis, July 29 - August 3, 2013.

Submissions are now being accepted for proposals for Contribuing Artist, Clinician and Lecturer spots at the 45th International Horn Symposium, July 29 - August 3, 2013 at the University of Memphis.

The 45th International Horn Symposium will take place July 29 - August 3, 2013 on the campus of the University of Memphis, Memphis, Tennessee, USA. Featured Artists signed so far include Jasper de Waal, Elizabeth Freimuth,  Abel Pereira and Eric Ruske. Additional artists will be announced as soon as they are finalized.

The theme for IHS 45 is "Horn & Song," and much of the repertoire to be performed will include voices or have a vocal theme or origin. Proposals on this theme are solicited for contributing artists, lecturers and clinicians. Contact Dan Phillips at host@ihs45.org for more details. Repertoire will also include at least two premieres of music commissioned for the occasion: a unique concerto for horn and chorus and another for solo horn quartet, participant horn ensemble and soprano soloist.
