I am pleased the announce the winners of the 2011 National Orchestral Horn Audition Competition (NOHAC) recently held at UNC, Chapel Hill on May 21.
The winner of the High School Competition was Emily Farmer from Leesville Road High School in Raleigh, NC. The University Competition was won by Paul Clifton from Western Michigan University.
The day consisted of a masterclass led by Andrew McAfee on the excerpt list, then, like a national audition, 3 rounds behind a screen to narrow down the candidates. Auditioners had their audition video taped and later received feedback from the judges.
