The IHS Advisory Council is excited to announce a new Editor and expanded mission for the IHS Manuscript Press. The IHS Manuscript Press was originally founded to offer composers who were prizewinners in the IHS Composition Contest a publishing avenue associated with the IHS and its members. The advent of desktop publishing, as well as an Advisory Council decision to allow published works less than two years old into the Contest, slowed the growth and variety of our offerings. After careful consideration, the AC approved a change in mission and purpose last summer. The Manuscript Press will now be called the IHS Online Music Library. The new mission is simply an expansion of the old: We will continue to offer a means of disseminating works recognized as prizewinners and honorable mentions of the IHS Composition Contest, but will eventually expand the offerings to include a range of works and styles that reflect the varying interests and abilities of IHS members. More on this as it develops.
We are pleased to announce that Daren Robbins has been appointed as our new Editor of the IHS Online Music Library. Stay tuned for more developments!
