Other Details: For sale is one King "Schmidt"-style horn, model No. 1157, from the early 1930's. The horn is all original. I purchased it as a project-horn, the project being a valve rebuild which was performed by Ken Pope of Pope Instrument Repair in Boston. The rebuild is excellent - the valves have outstanding compression, the horn plays with ease and slots well. The high Bb is secure and solid (a concern with some Schmidt-style instruments). Interesting and specific to the King version of the Schmidt wrap is an independent Bb-side tuning slide.

My hands are fairly small and I can play this horn with relative ease. However, because of the reach required to operate the piston change valve, I would not recommend this horn for someone with small hands.

Buyer to pay shipping.
ADSMANAGER_EXTRAS: Original Eb crook included, non-original King case available gratis if desired by buyer.
