Hello,

the Articles of Valerij Polekh in "The Horn Call" are very interesting. But does someone knows, what kind of Horns he played? In Russia, mostly saxonian Horns were used, namely H.F.Knopf, Mönnig, etc. Most of them were 5-valved Bb-flat Horns (1. and 3.) or compensating Doubles, like at the eastern German Orchestras, too. But also in some scandinavian Orchestras and at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam they had used compensating Doubles made by Knopf. Today they use Alex (dont ask me, why!).

Regards, Martin
