Texas Tech University School of Music announcesTeaching Assistantships in Horn. Basic information regarding the Assistantships in horn: Duties may include teaching brass fundamentals to music education majors, teaching applied horn lessons and perform in either a graduate brass quintet or graduate woodwind quintet. Total work load is 10 hours a week. This is a two year (four semester) assistantship for M.M. and a three year (six semester) for doctoral program. The assistantships are by semester but are renewable if work is satisfactory. The pay is approximately $865 a month for 9 months plus a waiver for course/university fees, and are eligible for health insurance coverage. Successful applicants are considered Texas Residents, which will allow the student to be "in-state". Outside employment opportunities: Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, Lubbock Ballet Orchestra, other orchestras in the area; Amarillo, Big Spring, Hobbs, Plainview, Roswell, etc. Private lessons/Studio, many of the High Schools and Middle Schools hire horn teachers for lessons, sectionals, and group master classes. There are 4 high schools in Lubbock, 3 high schools in the immediate outskirts of town, and 12 middle schools in Lubbock. For further information please contact: Christopher M.
