Other Details: This Holton Farkas model H-179 has been totally converted, by the late Walter Lawson of Boonesboro, Maryland, to the equivalent of a Lawson custom horn built on a Holton valve section. The valves were rebuilt, plated and fitted by the Lawson shop. All of the tapered tubing including the lead pipe, first branch, bell tail and bell flare, has been replaced by Lawson researched optimized tapers to improve intonation and efficient sound production which were hallmarks of the Lawson custom horn of the Boonseboro days. The alloy is unlacquered Ambronze. The detachable bell ring is of the Alexander threading convention. The horn comes with a new, Protec, detachable bell case.
