Other Details: MINT 1975 King Model 2280 "EROICA" double French horn.

Although not as common as horns from Conn and Holton, King had a big following among professional horn players with their Fidelio and Eroica models designed by George McCracken. They were big bell American horns with a balanced response and big sound capable of great volume an projection. The Fidelio was all yellow brass, the Eroica solid nickel silver.

This one, serial #515,457, was made in Cleveland in 1975 and shows the quality construction associated with King brass instruments in that period.

Condition is close to perfect, never dented, never damaged. Original lacquer finish is 99% intact (One small worn spot about an inch square inside the bell in the hand contact area).

The valves are tight-as-new, compression excellent. The horn has been completely disassembled, given a soap and water bath, re-assembled, lubricated, and has new valve lever strings. It's ready to play and perfect.

With like-new Marcus Bonna MB-2 case with backpack straps
