This beautiful horn was built by Paxman in June 1977 and used as a second backup instrument by a player in the opera orchestra in Copenhagen. As such it had very little use for much of its life and is in very good condition for its age. On close inspection the bell section looks like it has had some dent work done in the past, but it doesn't affect its playing qualities. The valves are fast and all the slides still slide! I had an Alexander flipper added and am including a Leather Specialties handguard.

It plays with a lovely mellow sound and of course the high register is excellent. With judicious use of fingerings and right hand position, in fact, one can play
all the same notes as on a regular double horn! It has been a reliable instrument when it really counts, but it's not quite the right instrument for me, and I need to sell to help fund the purchase of a new horn!
