The IHS has announced the winners of its Paul Mansur Award and Jon Hawkins Memorial Award for 2013.
For the Mansur Award, a judging panel of Shirley Hopkins, Leighton Jones and William Scharnberg has selected Erika Binsley as the winner. Erika will receive a free lesson with a Featured Artist or Advisory Council member at the 45th International Horn Symposium in Memphis, Tennessee, and a one year extension of her IHS membership.
Judges Peter Luff, Jesse McCormick, Johnny Pherigo, Kristin Thelander, and Joan Watson have chosen John Geiger as the winner of the Jon Hawkins Memorial Scholarship. The award includes up to $1500 to be used towards the costs of registration, room, meals, and travel to attend the 45th International Horn Symposium in Memphis, Tennessee; a one year extension of his IHS membership; a private lesson or master class with a symposium artist; and the opportunity to perform on a recital at the 2013 Symposium.
