Other Details: This Engelbert Schmid double was purchased new from Houghton Horns in Spring of 2011. The horn is made of yellow brass and nickel, and features a detachable, hand-hammered, medium bell, in yellow brass. The leadpipe is made of sterling silver, which adds depth and focus to the sound, and has a European receiver. It is being sold with an additional main tuning slide, made by Felix Cantesanu in 2015. I have a spun, medium, gold brass bell that I will be posting in a separate listing, but can negotiate its inclusion in the sale of this instrument.

All repairs and cleanings were performed annually by Houghton Horns, most recently in August 2019. The instrument has never undergone a chemical clean; only ultrasonic. There is one patch in the bell tail near the lead pipe, and is otherwise free of any major cosmetic defects.

I'm happy to share more photos and information about this horn via email/phone.
