Kaoru Chiba (b. 1928) has held positions as principal horn with the Tokyo, NHK and New Japan Philharmonic symphony orchestras, and as president of the Tokyo Horn Club.
He began his horn studies with Professor Nagata at the Tokyo Academy and later studied with Dennis Brain, Stegner in Frankfurt and Neudecker at Detmold.
He has educated an entire generation of horn-players in Tokyo, at the Kunitachi University Tokyo, and in masterclasses. Chiba is also an artistic advisor for Yamaha, and frequent performing soloist.
