If you are a current or recently expired IHS member, a user account for this site has already been created for you. Welcome to the new web site of the International Horn Society. If you are a member of the IHS, a user account has already been created for you. Please do not try to create another new account. Your initial user name is your IHS member number, extended to 5 digits if necessary by adding leading zeros. That number is on your membership card and in the upper left corner of the mailing label of The Horn Call. Your initial password is your last (family) name, with some possible alterations: names with less than 6 letters have been extended to 6 characters by adding zero(s) to the end of the names, and hyphens have been removed from hyphenated names. Names with spaces have been shortened to the part up to the first space. If that is less than 6 characters long, then trailing zeros have been added. All diacritical marks and apostrophes have also been removed. The pasword is case sensitive, must be at least 6 characters long and may include only the characters a-z, A-Z and 0-9.
Username example:
member number 39 has username 00039
Password examples:
Last Name: Smith becomes Password: Smith0
van Beethoven becomes van000
Vaughan Williams becomes Vaughan
O'Brien becomes OBrien
Maxime-Alphonse becomes MaximeAlphonse
Müller becomes Muller
Jöst becomes Jost00
This is just an initial password, and if you have difficulty with it you can have a new, randomly generated password assigned to your account and emailed to you by clicking on the"lost password?" link on the left side of every page. The address you enter must match the one we have on file for you. If we don't have a valid email address for you, this will not work.
